ARD Alpha Live

ARD-alpha is a German educational broadcaster that started as BR-alpha under the patronage of Bayerischer Rundfunk.

The 24-hour program of the ARD-alpha consists of in-house productions of the Bayerischer Rundfunk as well as programs from other ARD stations and the ORF.

ARD-alpha’s market share is in the tenths of a percent range and is well below arte and the children’s channel KiKA in Bavaria. In 2007, the market share of what was then BR-alpha was 0.1%. The last Funkanalyse Bayern 2014 by TNS Infratest Media Research shows a market share of 0.3% for ARD-alpha.
